Alginate impression material is a that often used in dentistry to produce study models. The main active ingredient the alginate sodium alginate, which can be obtained naturally from algae. turbulent water (Waters on village Agel, Situbondo) and structure of aliginate gluronic acid form gel influence viscosity porosity material. Purpose was analyze red algae Kappaphycus alvarezii. This laboratory experimental with research design post-test only control group design. consisted 4 groups, namely (1) group, (2) control, (3) treatment, (4) treatment. measurement results showed there no significant difference significantly different because type algae, surface area particles, preparation stage, extraction affected alginate. alvarezii has lower than standard Hygedent mean yield 9%. based sigma classified as high an average 33,200 cP.
